Featured, OLDER CHILDREN
Too much garbage is one of our major problems that just will not go away.
Too much garbage worries our politicians.
Too much garbage worries our children.
“Too Much Garbage” is the show which explores the problem, and then looks at the possible solutions, those which work and those that do not;
Otterby lives near a river in a beautiful wetland area and spends most of his days playing and swimming in the water, with his fellow inhabitants, as an otter “ought ter”. Short-sighted politicians decide that the wetland is to become the new city dump; out of sight – out of mind.(sound familiar?) The wetlanders, with the help of a computer- literate city pussy cat, protest – to no avail. In desperation the wetlanders set up their own TV station (ECO-TV), using only re-used equipment, to transmit the message “We are all threatened – We all need clean water, clean land, clean air.
The message is plain, inescapable and uncomfortable. The show however focuses equally on what we, humans, can and must do – REDUCE, reuse, repair, compost and recycle. The children learn that they have the power to help and indeed lead their parents and other adults, who in turn may lead the politicians. This show was produced with help from Earth Day Canada and the Recycling Council of Ontario. The information contained is accurate and as current as possible.
A ripple effect is used in this show – Persons with epilepsy should take appropriate precautions
This show is very much in demand – especially near Earth Day and Municipal recycling week. Early booking is highly recommended. We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests.
